I was driving home near Black Butte when the setting sun turned these rain clouds to the north a stunning reddish purple. The scene was gone in a flash, but will live on in this painting and my memory.

Bowman artist Cris Fulton loves the grasslands and badlands country of southwestern North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, and southeastern Montana. She considers the magnificent prairie landscape of the Little Missouri, Powder, and Yellowstone rivers to be her own artistic backyard.
