Bowman artist Cris Fulton loves the grasslands and badlands country of southwestern North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, and southeastern Montana. She considers the magnificent prairie landscape of the Little Missouri, Powder, and Yellowstone rivers to be her own artistic backyard. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Dakota, and has been an artist and photographer throughout her life. "To me, this territory is nothing less than a prairie paradise, a garden of Eden, and a heaven on earth. People who have grown up in this remarkable region affectionately call it "God's Country." Over the years I have become very familiar with the landmarks of the country between the Burning Coal Vein and Medora. This view can be easily overlooked as you travel the East River Road, but I always slow down to catch a glimpse as I drive by.
